Certified Administrator of Physician Practice Management
BEGINNER
Your foot in the door and more money in your pocket. This CAPPM credential means you are a Certified Physician Practice Manager.
Requirements
- Complete 12-hour comprehensive Practice Management training, within one year prior to date of application, in one of the following:
- Practice Management Boot Camp (live or online), or
- Practice Management Intensive Training (online)
- Successfully complete the CAPPM exam immediately following your Practice Management training
- Hold professional membership with the American Academy of Medical Management
Certified Master of Physician Practice Management
SEASONED PRO
This credential is awarded to those who have demonstrated excellence in practice management through experience and continued education. CPPM is the certification most sought after by employers.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience and current employment as a physician practice manager
- Complete 30 hour comprehensive Practice Management Intensive Training course within three years prior to application date (live or online)
- Successfully complete the CAPPM exam immediately following your Practice Management training OR currently hold the CAPPM credential
- Hold professional membership in the American Academy of Medical Management
- At least 14 units of professional accomplishment within three years of your application date. Qualifying accomplishments include:
- 1 unit per 3 hours related continuing education (no limit)
- 1 unit per hour taught or page published in related field (up to 3 units)
- 1 unit per award or professional designation (up to 2 units)
- 1 unit per year in related professional association (up to 2 units)
- 1 unit per 1/2 year of full time employment in practice management beyond 2 years (up to 6 units)
Certified Fellow of Physician Practice Management
NINJA MASTER
The highest distinction awarded to the top Physician Practice Managers. These are the gurus of practice management. If you meet someone with this credential, get to know them. You'll benefit from the experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience and current employment as a physician practice manager
- Hold the CMPPM credential for at least 6 years
- Hold professional membership in the American Academy of Medical Management
- At least 24 units of professional accomplishment within three years of your application date. Qualifying accomplishments include:
- 1 unit per 3 hours related continuing education (no limit)
- 1 unit per hour taught in related field (up to 3 units)
- 1 unit per article published in related field (up to 10 units)
- 1 unit per award or professional designation (up to 2 units)
- 1 unit per year in related professional association (up to 2 units)
- 1 unit per 1/2 year of full time employment in physician practice management beyond 5 years (up to 8 units)
